Protest the Hero - Fortress

Not a bad second album, but a couple of things need to change. First up, Protest the Hero need to find another vocalist, one who doesn't sound like a neutered emo scenester. And given the music they are playing, they could use more of a "tinny" guitar tone, so the listener can actually appreciate the technicality of certain portions. Besides that, there's a lot to like about them.

Atomship - Aliens

actually i found out about this band via a Youtube cover and i must say.. they are really good, but apparently the singer dropped out so there's nothing more to be expected from the original group. They are a bit progressive, but i also love their singer and drumming is great too. Their first and only album from 2004 is called "The Crash of 47" referring to the Roswell incident. This band's a winner for me.
