It was actually Paul Coelho's The Alchemist. Sorry, I should have included the author's name. >.<

I finished The Alchemist, and I really enjoyed it. I think it was the only book I read in World Lit this year that I liked. Actually, to correct myself, other than The Iliad, it was the only book I actually read for the class. She had asked us to read the books outside of class, but I was having to work so hard on passing my A+ hardware class that I sadly didn't have much time for reading. Now I have a whole summer though. :P I just need the $ for a book. The Springfield Library is shit. Plus, they have scary looking homeless people hanging around the entrance.

-Stephen Colbert's I Am America (And So Can You!)--it's definitely a must for any Colbert fan. Not the best book I've ever read, but it's good for laughs obviously.

I am looking for something to read, so I will check out Volpone, Aeternitas.

He came into my store and one of my employees had him sign four copies of that book (I work in a bookstore so it wasn't too hard to find something of his likeness for him to sign). I have the upmost respect for celebrities when it comes to fans and dealing with that sort of thing, but I could tell he really wasn't in the mood to be harassed about signing anything. Plus, that employee blew his cover. No one in my store realized it was him until she ran up to him and was like "OMG! STEPHEN COLBERT! YOU HAD BE SIGNZ BOOK FOR ME AND ME FRIENDZ!!!" Needless to say, I have an autographed copy of that book due to said event.

The last book I read was The Kitchen Boy, a historical fiction book based on Tsar Nicholas II. It was an interesting, quick read if you're into history and the Romanov family in particular. The only thing that bothered me was the ending as it clearly couldn't have happened...But that's why its labeled as 'Fiction' I suppose.

Aah, ok, I thought you meant Ben Jonson because you said you liked The Alchemist better than The Merchant of Venice, sorry .

Don't bother with Volpone then, unless you have a penchant for renaissance plays lol.

That's pretty awesome. You should totally trade copies of the book with me. :P
You know you want to, for cupcakes.

I'm not quite finished with it, but I'm reading The Host (by Stephenie Meyer) and I'm also reading The Zombie Survival Guide too. Oh, and I'm reading a couple of Philippa Greggory books. I have a bad habit of of reading multiple books at the same time. <just to add relevance to my post :P>

I started reading a bit more than I have in the last four years, and plan on to continue. Actually read my first Stephen King book earlier this month (I admit my sin, and repent for not reading anything of his sooner .)

in order...

Resident Evil CODE: Veronica - S.D. Perry
My first time actually reading it through, even though I've had it for years. Just couldn't get into it before, and now that I've read it, I think I would have been better off with the suspense of not reading it. I liked the previous five books, just when it came to this one the common problem of it being rushed and the second half of the book sucking made this book a bit of a disapointment. Although, being a Steve Burnside hater, I actually could stand him in the book. Still don't like him though =P

StarCraft : Liberty's Crusade - Jeff Grubb
Not my first time reading it, but there was a lot I forgot about. Enjoyed it, and while it strays from the game it doesn't do it to an excessive amount.

Doom : Knee Deep In The Dead - Dafyddab Hugh and Brad Linaweaver
Read this before as well and enjoyed it alot back then, after a recent re-read it's not as good as I remember, but still entertaining enough not to throw it at a wall for enjoyment.

then there was the trip to the book store, and...

Doom : Hell on Earth - Dafyddab Hugh and Brad Linaweaver
A bit better than Knee Deep In The Dead, and some new interesting characters. Some decent laughs in there, including hallucinations.

The Gunslinger - Stephen King
The first in the Dark Tower series, and so for me it begins. I thought it was alright, some really good writing ofcourse, kept me entertained and waiting to read the next one. I'm hoping it's going to get better as it goes there were a few parts that didn't work aswell as they could for me (very few).

Terry Pratchett - The Colour of Magic. Saw the recent tv movie and figured I'd give the book a whirl again.

Man, the tv movie really messes with the book.

Currently reading...
Kurt Vonnegut - Slaughterhouse 5: The Children's Crusade - A Dirty-dance with Death

Plague of the Dead: The Mornightstar Strain

9.5/10

This book is FUCKING EPIC. Just think of what would happen (in this case, it did happen) if you mixed the fast as hell sprinting ragers from 28 Days Later with classic shambling stink bag zombies from Romero's Dead series of movies and you've got yourself one kick-ass zombie adventure.

I don't want to give away too much info, but I will say that the battle at the Suez Canal was worth the money alone.

If this book were turned into a movie it would without a doubt be the single most kick-ass zombie movie EVER.

Thunder and Ashes: The Morningstar Strain

8.0/10

This book was a little slower in advancing its plot. The author concentrated more on making the characters interact with other survivors more than the infected, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If anything, I would describe this book as filler material for later sequels to the series.

Day by Day Armageddon (A Zombie Novel)

9.0/10

This book was interesting in the aspect that it is written in the format of the survivor's daily journal. Similar to the Zombie Survival Guide, he draws diagrams, writes notes, and there are even a few blurry photographs that help to enhance the story. Eagerly awaiting the sequel(s).

Dying to Live: A Novel of Life Among the Undead

8.5/10

The author focuses more on the philosophy of life in an undead world more than action. What few actiony scenes there were, were quite explicit. Also, I'm not sure if I liked the 'twist' in the story or not (kinda kills the mood).
