As seen in the preview, John Connor is played by Batman's star, Christian Bale. Rumors have said that John Connor is not the main character, but again, just a rumor, although the above synopsis kind of contradicts this XD but this much is true: Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be returning as THE Terminator.

Personally, I'm excited for the film, yet am dreading it at the same time. I am somewhat disappointed that Nick Stahl didn't return as John Connor; I thought his performance was good and he actually looked like Michael Biehn [Kyle Reese, T1] in a couple of scenes from T3 [or I should say Biehn looked like Stahl in the 'hiding from the cops in a car' scene towards the beginning of T1....if anyone knows what I'm talking about XD].

Thoughts?

I think Christian Bale being in this movie is a positive, and it looks great, plus he resembles the John Connor from the first Terminator movie. I'll be watching it anyway, it isn't all about Arnie afterall. If you ask me he just became a gimmick for the third movie, it wasn't a bad movie, it just didn't have a Terminator feel to it, it felt out of place or something. Terminator has a bit of a dark order about it and T3 didn't seem to have that same value in the story either.

People have been wanting a Terminator film set during the war forever. No Arnold may help things too >_> plus its Bale...

T3 was rushed and tried to be a cash whore and sucked, so my expectations are low.

Although I think the suits realized they hurt their bottom line, and might have changed things this time going for a more authentic tale and mood.

Who's bright Idea was it to combine terminators in the last film, calling them the most advanced? It was lame, and as we found out, had the same shortcomings of both models. A computer AI wouldn't make that mistake....

I hope it's better than the dribble they came out with last time, but I still watched it and I'll probably watch it again, because I love those fucking movies.

My expectations are high for this film, despite what anyone says, I loved T3 and thought it was a very good film. I love the Terminator series.

I like T3 as well, but its definitely not the best of the films. However I have very high hope for T4. Bale = John Conner is more than enough reason to give it a chance. And weve been waiting to see this period in Terminator history since the beginning.

Whoever plays Kyle Reese now, will have some shoes to fill. Michael Biehn MADE the character, just as Arnie made the terminator itself and Etc...

I like the fact that Helena Bonham Carter is going to be in this, I really like her.

I can't wait for this movie to come out. Bale will do great and really interested in seeing where they go with this movie.
