I've still not seen SAC so I'm holding off watching it for the time being.

There's (kind of) a review here but it's an English speaker reviewing the film solely on visuals and GitS' strongest aspect is it's story and use of philosophy so the review probably won't be great. Nice screenshots though.

Really enjoyed the first series of Gantz.

Yeah, sometimes the narrative is an absolute mess and some of the characters are annoying but I like the concept and I think that they can do good things with the series. Ordered series 2 from Amazon but it won't be here 'till late November early December

Okay, first of all, I'm not really a big fan of Anime...I have no real reason behind it other than it just doesn't much appeal to me. I did get into Cowboy Bebop briefly, but I didn't have the patience to sit up and catch it at that obscure time it used to come on during Adult Swim...

Anyway, I more-so had a question: I was wondering if anyone was familar with the Berserk Anime/Manga. I've been picking some of the Manga up at work, and basically just look at the pictures. It looks like it would be an interesting story based on the little I've seen of it. Is the series worth looking into or should I just stop while I'm ahead?

I've heard of Berserk but unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to read up on it.

http://www.afrosamurai.com/

I find this anime strange and interesting at the same time. Afro Samurai is somewhat a combination of Samurai Champloo and Ghost in the Shell and is a SPIKE TV original series. Even if the show is over the edge at times, the beautiful fight scenes make up for the lack luster story.

Berserk is, like, a classic series. I enjoyed its story, and enjoyed that medievil feel it has. Less magic and wizards, more brutal sword fights! Its quite graphic, at least the anime, having blood and nudity. It is definetly no DBZ thats for sure. The first episode is actually the last episode, everything else is a flash back telling the story. I assume the manga would be far more in depth, and probably worth checking out. I recall the anime's ending being really fucked up. Like you semi expect it, but when it happens you're still like "uhhh what just happened here..." The animation style is a little old, but it works. and the dubs are actually not horrible.

Well then name some of them, mr one sentence post

Currently digging...

Afro Samurai - Only 2 episodes in so nothing major storywise but some nice animation and violent fight scenes. Plus, it has Samuel L Jackson in it.

Ergo Proxy - Only watched the first 4 episodes, eventhough I have 23 downloaded, but I'm liking it. Good characters and some nice story progression thus far.

Naruto - It ain't new or anything but I watched the first boxset and really enjoyed it. Runs the gambit from childishly idiotic to some actually sensible story elements.

I still have the GitS series', including the movie, to watch aswell as other things I've already downloaded. Finally ordered the NGE boxset and movies plus I'm downloading Texhnolyze as I type because I big time dug Serial Experiments : Lain.

Woah! That Devil May Cry thing looks awesome! What is it? A series or movie?

Just been reading up on the Complete Platinum Collection of Evangelion - and I didn't realise just how extensive the restoration work was! The write up I've seen says many episodes have completed scenes, some restored scenes and that doesn't just apply to the 4 Directors Cut episodes!? Does anyone know how true that is?

Naruto is a very good series...at least up until the filler. Theres like over 100 episodes of filler, things that are not relevent to the story at all, which has pissed off so many fans. They are only now getting back to the main plot. I stopped just before the filler began, and will probably pick it back up soon. FIller isnt always bad, but Naruto is probably the worst example of it...

As far as I know, it's true. I've never watched NGE so I have no basis for comparison but I've ordered the Platinum edition solely because it had the best audio and visual transfer.

If you wanted to throw money away then you could always get this, although it is over £60 more than I spent for the platinum edition.

Teaser trailer for DMC. I have faith in it being atleast visually good as Madhouse is doing it and I've not seen a bad production by them thus far. They're responsible for Metropolis, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers (which is a very underrated anime film) and the upcoming Paprika (which I really want to see). They also did the Last Order OVA for Advent Children.

Filler has started to appear in the first boxset I watched. Not enough to spoil the series but it's definately noticeable. Kind of worried if it gets worse though.
