Not sure. Maybe because no one was tehre to tend begetation and the rotting corpses rotted the soil.
NOTE: I changed or at leats tried to change the title to accomodate all movies. At the end of RE: A, when they rise up from detroit into a shot of the world, it seems detroit is located near kentucky. |

The whole earth dieing thing just never made sense to me. They never explained it and that is why I never liked the movies. I guess they felt they could make anything up and people would still watch it.

The earth would die if everyone started dying. Think about it.
*takes a moment to think about* Probably not to the extent of Extinction, but more like the movie Wall-E, (yes I saw it) where everything was just dead and dusty, and sand slowly buried the cities. With no life and no living plants, climates change, and it would probably stop raining as much, if at all.
