Default Dead Space

Sorry if there's already a topic made on this, but it went on for a few pages on re5 , so i thought i'd move it here.

After seeing the hands on preview of dead space I want this bloody game , the settings, the characters, limited ammo, suit, enemies, everything .

This looks like a survival horror game to be proud of ( couch capcom cough). Ah well, i'm jumping off re ship .

What's everyones views on dead space so far?.

At first I thought nothing of the game, just another FPS trying to be Doom or whatever. However after seeing the trailers and some of the development interviews...I am far more intrigued. The horror element looks, well, not lame...the enemy designs are pretty badass and the ideas of shooting body parts and using that to kill certain enemies, yeah its been done but its still better than average.

we'll see

not a huge fan of FPS's, especially on consoles. So few are actually fun and well done. Heres hoping!

Its no FPS'...

Its a third person sci-fi survival horror game.

Odd, I thought it was geared more as a FPS, or does it just have the ability to play in Third or First person.

Dead Space Horror Read my preview and the interview and probably watch some Dev Diaries.

Actually, you cant play in first person. Trust me man, this is a true Survival Horror game. I remember the devs having a hard time listening to focus groups when most of them just "needed" a pause function because it was too though for them.

"People where running against walls with open inventory, it was a total mess, even if we didnt want in the first place we had to include a break function for better gameplay"

The reality is that its, at most, is going to be a "great survival horror game". I dont see any engaging plot development down the line, not in a way RE or MGS presented itsself. I just dont see any room for theories or discussions as the game steers a lot more into sci-fi where the simpliest answer to every, remotely discussion inspiring question, would be "because its in the future, and it is so".

In short, this is not the rescue boat RE fans are waiting for.

Oh, i think and hope your wrong here. Apparently to them the story plays a huge role and i can remember "the story is so huge and there's room for a sequel, we wrote the story and then find it was too much to put in a single game, therefore we used the comics and the movie to tell the pre-story."

We where shown a master timeline of the Dead Space story and it is really huge, goes over years. I have faith in a great story. LEts see how it turns out in the end.
